2010 ONSET CAPE VERDEAN FESTIVAL

·       PERFORMING…Monte Cara Band – First time at Festival – new group out of New Bedford will begin following the Opening at 12:00 pm

 

Ze Rui With his musicians and vocalists will begin at 2:00 pmZe Rui is an International performer and has been a favorite throughout New England and at the festival for many years

 MENDES BROTHERS – 1^ST time at the Festival. They perform from 4:00 to 6:00PM.  Their music is a celebration of Cape Verde’s history and the victorious journey of her people.  The new CD “Porto de Regresso” (The Gate of Return 1) -  the group’s newest CD, commemorates the 550^th Anniversary of Cape Verde Islands and promotes unity, culture and reconnection with Africa.  The album has received numerous awards and recognitions, including commendations by the U.S. Congress, the State of  California and the City of Los Angeles for its message of unity and peace.

·      FREE SHUTTLE from multiple parking areas located along Onset Ave. (Parking $5)
